The Judd School, Tonbridge won the 34th boys Knole Run on Saturday
13th January in an impressive display of team running. Over the

squad finished with 14 runners in the top 100. The A' team won with
a superb score of only 81 points, St. Albans School 2nd with 133
points and Winchester College 3rd with 171 points. The Judd B' team
finished 10th out of 40 completed teams, beating 24 other A' teams.
In this prestigious event, with teams from Italy and Scotland racing
and a host of the top independent schools from around the country,
the first runner home for Judd was the captain of the school squad,
Chris Kiely. Chris led the team home in 6th position in a time of
35.52 seconds continuing his excellent form, from the week before,
where he guaranteed his Kent selection at the Kent Championships.
With all the scoring 6 runners for Judd appearing in the top 20
positions the benefit of their winter training week to Club la Santa,
Lanzarote was obvious. The A' teams win was completed by brilliant
contributions from Nick James (9th in 36.38s), Harry Paton (11th
in 36.57s), Isaac Harland (16th in 37.23s) and James Darby and Jeremy
Young, who ran neck and neck throughout the course (19th in 37.49s
and 20th in 37.50s respectively).
Excellent performances also came from other A' team members Nick
Jesson (27th) and James Taylor finishing in 36th - over 160 places
better than last year! The B' team was led by Greg Cole (28th) and
completed by Michael - John Clemence (47th), Edwin Clifford Coupe
(80th), Richard Gordon (92nd), Josh Howkins (96th), Sam Begg (134th),
Roper Peckham - Cooper (145th) and Mark Southall (169th).
This is the fifth year running Judd have appeared in the top three
