Sixth Form- Leavers' Letter
Dear Students and Parents,
In the final days before study leave it is very important to keep
a clear head; to this end we think it helpful to remind you of some
key information.
Behaviour - Final Day
Although Year 13 goes on study leave on the 16th May, the remainder
of the school will continue to have a normal day. It is essential
that in their desire to enjoy their final day, Year 13 students
do not disrupt the learning of others, nor indeed examinations that
may be taking place during the day. What may start out as a harmless
prank could escalate into something very different. I will not tolerate
disruption or damage to the school and all the students have been
asked to think very carefully about their actions on this day. I
hope you will help reiterate this point with your sons/daughters
so that they can finish their time in the right manner and not jeopardise
their examinations.
Exam Protocols
The Year 13 Exam Briefing will take place in assembly, on Thursday
15 May. There are a number of significant changes to exam procedure,
so it is vital that every student attends. All students MUST wear
full school uniform when sitting examinations. If you choose to
revise in school, or come in for a study session you must also wear
school uniform. Please remember many other students are still in
lessons or sitting exams, and behave with appropriate sensitivity.
Mobile phones are not permitted in exam rooms, from this year. The
best course of action is to leave your phone at home for that session.
Clearance
Year 13 Clearance takes place on Thursday 26th June. Please make
sure you have all the appropriate texts to return to departments,
or cash to pay for them. If you know in advance that you are unable
to attend on 26th, please come as soon as possible to the Sixth
Form Office to arrange early clearance.
What to Do After A-Level Results Come Out
The full details, updated for 2008, are posted on the Sixth Form
Section of the Judd School website. Please consult this immediately.
Both Mr Rivers and Ms Lynch will be in school for consultation on
Results Day (14th August). Mr Rivers will then be in school on the
morning of 15th August, and all day 18th, and 19th August. Ms Lynch
will be available all day 15th August. You may consult us in person,
or by phone, or email.
Whatever the outcome is, we hope you will keep in contact; we remain
interested in your experiences even after you leave us!
It goes without saying that we wish you every success in the summer
exams. It has been a pleasure to see your progress in the Sixth
Form, and you leave us with some remarkable memories. We are very
grateful to so many of you for the exceptional commitments you have
made to school life. We look forward to seeing you at the Leavers'
Tea on 26th June, and at Prize giving on 27th June, followed by
the Leavers' Ball in the evening.
Best wishes
MGR
